'My Guy's Hat'
I wanted to make a hat for my hubby that was a bit more 'manly' looking.
So I came up with this pattern, the stitches I use give it a cabled look.
Make this hat for the special guy in your life, then make one for yourself to match.
materials needed: worsted yarn, crochet hook size 5.00
gauge: 5DC=2"
5rows=2"
rnd 1: ch 3, 10 dc in 3rd ch frm hk, join
rnd 2: ch 3(counts as first dc now and throughout), dc in same st *2dc* arnd join (22dc)
rnd 3: ch 3, dc in same st *dc in next st, 2dc in next st* join (30dc)
rnd 4: ch 3, dc in same st *dc in next 2sts, 2dc in next st* join (40dc)
rnd 5: ch 3, dc in next st, FPDC in next 2 sts
*dc in next 2 sts, FPDC in next 2 sts* arnd (join) (20dc and 20 FPDC)
rnds 6-11: repeat rnd 5, making sure to work a dc in each dc and an FPDC in each FPDC
rnds 12-13: to decrease:
ch 3 *FPDC in next 2 FPDC, dc in next dc (skip the next dc)* join (10dc and 20FPDC)
rnd 14: ch 1, sc arnd, join and finish off
